Colorful Florals for a Wedding at Black Walnut Inn
2022 seemed like the year for colorful wedding florals, no matter if it was spring, summer or fall. Autumn is often a time of year where we think of earth tones, rust colors, or a typical red, yellow and orange palette. Maggie and Kevin opted for a more vibrant take on a fall color palette for their wedding at the Black Walnut Inn in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.
Colorful florals of peach, blush, orange, yellow, red and pops of blue gave this Black Walnut Inn wedding a fun and unique feel, all captured beautifully by local Portland photographer, Natalie, of Here Today Photography. Continue on to see how this lovely fall wedding came together at one of my favorite venues near Portland.
Oregon Winery Wedding Venue: Black Walnut Inn
One of my favorite Oregon wedding venues is the Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard located in wine country in Dundee, Oregon. Oregon is full of stunning wedding venues, and there’s nothing quite like the rolling vineyard views of the Willamette Valley.
Black Walnut Inn is a nine-room villa and vineyard that makes you feel like you’re somewhere in Europe - Italy perhaps - but is just an hour southwest of Portland. As an intimate wedding venue, this venue can accommodate up to 50 guests and is the perfect location if you’re holding a smaller wedding in Oregon.
Seasonal, Colorful Florals for an Autumn Wedding
As a florist who focuses on working with the seasons, we had plenty of beautiful, locally grown blooms for this autumn wedding at the Black Walnut Inn.
From peach-and-blush-colored garden roses to tangerine-colored dahlias and sky blue delphinium, this palette brought just enough color for an ode to autumn. At the same time, the bright florals made an impact against the abundance of natural greenery already present at this wedding venue.
Colorful Floral Ceremony Installation at Black Walnut Inn
When discussing ceremony flowers with your wedding florist, it’s important to consider what your natural backdrop will be at your wedding venue or location. Is there a beautiful, natural view present in your backdrop? If so, you may opt to do a lower-profile ceremony installation like the one above.
Choosing this style design allows your guests to enjoy the beauty of the landscape, while still incorporating beautiful floral to transform a venue for your special occasion.
This installation was also repurposed beautifully after the wedding ceremony to the reception. If you’re hoping to repurpose ceremony florals, talk to your florist about how you can do so!
Ikebana-Inspired Wedding Reception Tables at the Black Walnut Inn
One of my favorite parts of this Black Walnut Inn wedding in October wedding was the al fresco reception, adorned with bistro lighting and long, family-style banquet tables. Tables were carefully curated with beautiful vintage-inspired glassware in slate blue, and dabbled with ikebana-inspired florals.
Rolling vineyard views served as a backdrop to this reception space, and dancing and drinks took place in the adjacent cellar.
