Kicking off the spring wedding season here in Portland, Oregon, an intimate wedding took place in May which was jam-packed full of colorful wedding flowers. G + L chose an intimate, cozy setting full of amazing food, brick and wood design features, cozy and warm lighting, and lots of bright and bold flowers. Take a look below to see how we transformed an iconic Portland restaurant into a perfectly cheerful, cozy intimate space for this springtime wedding.
Colorful Wedding Flowers: Local Blooms in Portland, Oregon
This colorful wedding was jam-packed with locally grown blooms from the surrounding areas of Portland, Oregon. I’ve said time and time again how lucky I am to be a Portland wedding florist with access to so many incredible, high-quality and stunning wedding flowers that are grown close by.
This Portland wedding that took place in May was no exception. Bright and bold peonies, spray roses, roses, ranunculus, butterfly ranunculus, snap dragons and violas were just a few spring, colorful favorites that made up the spring wedding flowers for this intimate Portland wedding.

Colorful Chuppah Flowers for an Intimate Portland Wedding
One of my favorite designs from this intimate Portland wedding was the ‘chuppah’ created on the existing structure at Ox Restaurant in East Portland. The bold and colorful wedding flowers in shades of peach, pink, coral and orange made such an impactful ceremony moment.
As an eco-conscious and foam-free floral designer, I always enjoy having a structure that’s so easy to work on. The wood and metal entryway was the perfect base for my mechanics on this colorful floral installation and highlighted the venue’s existing character.

Minimal Wedding Florals for a Portland Wedding Reception
The cuisine was a really important aspect for this couple, hence their choice to get married at one of Portland’s best restaurants, Ox Restaurant in East Portland. This intimate wedding reception highlighted the beauty (both visually and, of course, mouth-watering) of the food and we opted for more minimal floral for a family-style meal.
Lightly laid greenery was placed on the reception tables, while floral installations adorned the windows to add a fun and bright floral flair. The dessert area was also decked out in bright and colorful wedding flowers, with an array of arrangements scattered among handmade, decadent desserts.
